YOUR DEFAULT CONFIGURATION (You’re Righteous By Nature)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Romans 5:19 “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
After you got born again, righteousness, which is the very nature of God, was imparted to your spirit. You didn’t have to do anything; it was freely given to you by God. This is the nature you bear now as a child of God. And just as you didn’t have to ask for it or do anything to become righteous, you don’t need to ‘perform’ in any way to remain righteous. You’re righteous by nature; righteousness is your default configuration!
Think about your mobile phone, for instance: because it’s been configured to make calls and browse the Internet, it functions accordingly. It can’t work as a microwave oven because, although they’re both electronic devices, they’re configured for different purposes. The same way, you’ve been configured by God to be righteous: to act and live righteously.
So, although you look like everyone else physically, you can’t live your life like they do. You live according to the configurations of righteousness found in God’s Word. You might ask, “But Pastor, if I do something wrong, does that wrong affect my righteousness?” First, your righteousness wasn’t pre-conditioned on your good works. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Think about it this way: A baby doesn’t get more human as he grows. He’s a hundred per cent human already. Then, he starts learning how to use all he’s got; his human faculties: his legs, hands, eyes, brain, mind, etc.
Now, during the process of training and educating that child, if he makes a mistake or does something wrong, that doesn’t mean he’s no longer human. He’s human by nature, not by actions. Likewise, you’re righteous by nature; it’s your “default setting” to produce fruits and works of righteousness. Therefore, learn to live the God-life. Hallelujah!

Romans 5:17; 2 Corinthians 5:21
I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus; therefore, I please God every time and in every way, because I live by the faith of the Son of God who gave Himself for me. I’m sin-free because Christ has given me a new life. I’m alive to God, and live in righteousness, in Jesus Name. Amen.
