(You’re A Giver Of Life)
TO THE BIBLE 1 Corinthians 15:45 GNB
“For the scripture says, “The first man, Adam, was created a living being”; but the last Adam is the life-giving Spirit.”
Jesus came with a purpose—to give eternal life to those who would believe in Him. He affirmed this in John 10:10 (MSG), “…I came so they can have real and eternal life.” In John 10:27-28, He also said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life.” This is why Paul describes Him in 1 Corinthians 15:45 as the life-giving Spirit.
It’s beautiful to know that having been born again, you’ve become one spirit with the Lord (1 Corinthians 6:17). In other words, you’re also a life-giving spirit—a dispenser and distributor of divine life. Your purpose thus is to bring the lost into the life of righteousness through the Gospel. This is why Jesus, in John 20:21, said, “…As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
Jesus has appointed you as His representative and bearer of His Gospel on earth, to manifest the God-life to the nations of the world. Eternal life is revealed through the preaching of the Gospel. This means that as people listen to you preach, eternal life—salvation, prosperity and the righteousness of God—is unveiled to them.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
2 Corinthians 5:20
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
Dear Father, I thank you for blessing me with your Word today. I am full of joy every day as I contemplate on the glorious life you’ve given me. I thank you also for making me a life-giving spirit, helping me impart eternal life to those to whom I minister through the preaching of the Word, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
