WHERE’S HIS HONOUR? (You Honour The Lord By Acting On His Word)
? Pastor Chris
? TO THE BIBLE
Hebrews 11:8 AMP C “[Urged on] by faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went forth to a place which he was destined to receive as an inheritance; and he went, although he did not know or trouble his mind about where he was to go.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
“Lord, I honour you,” was Norman’s typical phrase for rounding up his prayers. In reality, however, his actions didn’t match his words. He wouldn’t give his offerings or pay his tithes, or preach Jesus to his unsaved friends, or even fellowship with other Christians. One day, he stumbled upon Luke 6:46 where Jesus said, “…why do you call Me “Lord, Lord,” and do not do the things which I say?” He suddenly realised the Lord was talking to him, and he immediately repented. He decided that he would truly honour the Lord by doing His Word and not merely pay lip service to it.
In Genesis 12:1, the Lord told Abram (later renamed Abraham) to go to a land that He would show him. It was a land He intended Abraham to inherit. However, He didn’t tell Abraham where the land was. Abraham simply obeyed and began his journey of faith, not knowing where he was going. That’s the way to honour the Lord—by acting on His Word and doing what He says to do, even when the details are not clear to your physical senses.
In Acts 8:26-40, we read about Philip who also acted like Abraham. When the Lord told him to arise and go to a specific place, not telling him immediately what he was going there to do, Philip didn’t argue. The Bible says, “…he arose and went…” (Acts 8:27). That’s acting on God’s Word! Philip’s acting on the Word is the reason the Ethiopian eunuch received the Gospel (Acts 8:27-39). The Lord is the Boss; when He tells you to do anything, don’t ask, “What’s in it for me?” or “I’ll only do it if I want to!” Simply act on what He says!
God’s Word is His will expressed, and each time you take a step according to His Word, you’re honouring Him. For example, Mark 16:15 says, “…Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” That’s a direct instruction from the Lord. Therefore, make soul winning your lifestyle; talk to people always about Jesus. Do this because the Lord said to do so, and you want to honour Him.

? Speak
The Word of God is my life. I’m one with the Word because I’m born of the Word. When I hear the Word, I receive it with my spirit, and function accordingly because I have the ability to do the Word!
