Hebrews 11:7 GNB “It was faith that made Noah hear God’s warnings about things in the future that he could not see. He obeyed God and built a boat in which he and his family were saved. As a result, the world was condemned, and Noah received from God the righteousness that comes by faith.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
When you read Genesis 6 from verse 9, you’ll see how the Lord directed Noah to build an ark because judgment was coming upon the earth. While he was building, those around scoffed at him because there was no sign of rain. “Come on, would God really destroy the world with water?” they jeered at him. Noah wasn’t dissuaded, however, and he carried on till he completed the ark
Noah followed God’s instructions to the letter, and soon as he got into the ark with his family and all the animals, the Lord Himself shut the door after them. Shortly, it got cloudy and windy, and the rains began to fall until the whole world was submerged in the ensuing deluge. The people thought it would stop, but it didn’t until it destroyed all men and animals on earth. The ark, on the other hand, went higher and higher as the waters rose, and safely glided to the mountains of Ararat. The same water that destroyed others preserved Noah and his family because they were in the ark.
That ark is symbolic of Christ. To be in Christ is to be in God’s secret place of rest and protection. Psalm 91:1-2 says, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”” Christ is your refuge! If you’re in Him, you have nothing to fear, because you’re in safety. No matter what flood may be destroying men’s lives today, be it a physical or financial flood, those same waters will bear you up because you are in the Ark, which is Christ.
