YOUR WEAPON OF DEFENCE;
(Use Your Shield of Faith Against Satan’s Lies And Tricks);
TO THE BIBLE Ephesians 6:16 GNB;
“At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the Evil One.”
Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, and He achieved this purpose (1 John 3:8). He paralyzed satan, demolished his works, and rendered him and his demons completely helpless. Colossians 2:15 (CEV) shows us how Jesus “…defeated all powers and forces. He let the whole world see being led away as prisoners when he celebrated his victory.” However, you have a part to play in keeping the devil and his cohorts where Jesus put them.
It’s true that Satan is a defeated foe, but you’ve to ensure that you’re shielded from his tricks and manipulations, so he doesn’t gain any foothold in your life. How do you do this? Ephesians 6:10-11 says it’s by putting on the whole armor of God. It’s your responsibility to put your armor on; God isn’t going to do it for you.
One of the weapons in your armor is the shield of faith. With the shield of faith, you’re able to extinguish all the fiery darts the enemy throws at you. You must, therefore, build your faith strong by learning and acting on the Word. Irrespective of what happens around you, refuse to fear; don’t give up or give in; speak the Word in faith.
13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
I’m strong in the Lord and in the power of His might! No weapon fashioned against me shall prosper. With my shield of faith, I extinguish all the fiery darts of the enemy, foiling and rendering his devices, schemes, and stratagems ineffective, in the Name of Jesus!
