TO THE BIBLE: 1 Corinthians 11:23-25 NIV
‘For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”’
LET’S TALK
Before His crucifixion, Jesus broke bread at supper with His disciples and said to them, “This is my body, which is given for you.” This was symbolic of His body which was broken for our sake Taking the communion marks our oneness with Him. He was crucified in our place. Now, when we “break” bread, we’re actually celebrating His finished work—His vicarious sacrifice on the Cross.
Jesus also said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:25 RSV). His blood was shed so that sin wouldn’t have any power or control over you. Your new life is a result of the new covenant; you’re what He got for His sacrifice!
So, the next time you take the Communion, remember these things and declare them in prayer, thanking God for all that Jesus has achieved for you. Let them create a new consciousness within you and propel you to experience the higher life in Christ.

Dear Father, I thank you for the body of Jesus that was broken for me and His blood that was shed for the remission of my sins. Now I know my body won’t be broken and sin will never have dominion over me. The punishment for my sins was laid upon Jesus, and by His stripes, I’m healed! Thank you Father for the divine life and health I have in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
