THE GLORY ONLY INCREASES ;
TOMORROW’S GLORY FAR SURPASSES TODAY’S
TO THE BIBLE: Haggai 2:9
““The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,” says the Lord of hosts. “And in this place I will give peace,” says the Lord of hosts.”
LET’S TALK
While teaching His disciples just before He was arrested and crucified, the Lord Jesus made a remarkable statement. He said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father” (John 14:12). Jesus told His disciples they were going to do greater works because He knew there was going to be a greater glory after His death, burial, and resurrection. This glory was what the prophets of old referred to as the glory of the latter house.
His disciples didn’t begin to experience this glory until they were filled with the Holy Spirit. That singular experience transformed their lives forever, because they all became very bold and on many occasions dared the authorities. Their words were impregnated with divine power, for they had learnt to speak authoritatively in the name of Jesus. The once timid and fearful Peter, who denied Jesus thrice before a little girl, boldly proclaimed His name before a multitude and three thousand men were converted to the faith. In the book of Acts chapter 4, the Bible reveals that not only did they walk in the supernatural, they also started teaching people how to do the same.
Although Jesus has gone to heaven to be with the Father, the Church still continues to represent Him on earth today, not with the glory He had when He walked the earth, but with an even greater glory – the glory of the resurrected Christ! Nothing can stop the Church of Jesus Christ; we will so dominate this world before the rapture. This is the glory of the latter house.
GO DEEPER
Matthew 16:18
And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
Habakkuk 2:14
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
Acts 4:13
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.
PRAY
Dear Father, let the power of your glorious name be manifested throughout the world by your Church. Kindle your life in every heart and stir up the passion for your Word, Spirit and power in your Church. Let the glory of this latter house become more apparent like never before in our day, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
