(God Loves Spending Time With You)
TO THE BIBLE: 2 Corinthians 13:14 NASB
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.”
LET’S TALK
I’m sure you’ll agree with me that it’ll be impossible for you to have proper fellowship with your dog, cat, bird or goldfish. In the same vein, God doesn’t have fellowship with unbelievers. So, is it then possible for anyone to have a personal relationship with God, the Creator of heaven and earth? Emphatically “Yes!” He isn’t as standoffish as many have believed. In fact, the Bible reveals that He desires to have fellowship with you. The reason God can do that with you is because you have His life (Zoë) in you. The world doesn’t speak His language, but you do, for His Holy Spirit lives in you.
God doesn’t recognise your sins or wrongdoings as some think. Such a misconception about His personality is based on ignorance. When you’re acquainted with Him, you’ll realise He still loves you in spite of your sins. Remember that He was the One Who was looking for Adam and his wife in the Garden of Eden, even though He knew they had disobeyed Him (Genesis 3:8-9). In his epistle to the churches, John said, “That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ” (1 John 1:3).
You may be wondering to yourself, “What’s so special about me that God seeks my fellowship?” It’s because you are His very offspring; you have His life and nature in you (1 John 5:11-12). This is why He loves to hear your prayers. He said, “It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear” (Isaiah 65:24). So you see, prayer is more than asking Him for something; it’s a fellowship.

Pray
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for the great honour and privilege of fellowshipping with you, with Jesus and with the Holy Spirit. It’s the greatest calling there is, and I ask that you teach me through the Holy Spirit to continually fulfil this call, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
