(Never Permit Any Fear To Run Your Life)
TO THE BIBLE: Deuteronomy 31:6 AMPC
“Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you.”
LET’S TALK
“Hey, what was that sound?!” Kelly quivered as her eyes widened in fright. She was scared to stay in her room all alone, especially when it was dark. She was a Christian but didn’t know she had authority over the devil in Jesus’ Name. That’s just like some people: they’re afraid of dark places, and they nurse different phobias in their minds. The reason many live in fear of the devil is their ignorance of the scriptures, hence they arrogate too much power to the devil. As God’s child, it’s wrong for you to be afraid of anything. Throughout the scriptures, God repeatedly admonishes us not to fear. There is no reason whatsoever for any Christian to be afraid of the devil, for he’s already defeated!
In Matthew 28:18, Jesus said, “…I have been given all authority in heaven and earth” (TLB). Notice He said “all authority,” not “some authority,” meaning there’s none left for the devil. Satan has been completely paralysed and rendered helpless by Jesus! The Lord has dislodged and dispossessed him and all his cohorts of their powers! He stripped them of everything that’s of value, leaving satan and his cohorts helpless.
Having done that, He then paraded satan and his demons as prisoners of war—beaten, battered and disgraced! “[God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross]” (Colossians 2:15 AMPC). Then He gave you authority over them (Luke 10:19)!
Do you now see why you must refuse to be harassed or tormented by fear of any kind? You ought to live in faith—faith in God and in His Word, faith in the victory of Jesus over satan and the cohorts of darkness. That victory was for you.
