LET’S TALK

Courage is the will and ability to do what’s right or necessary when you’re faced with adversity. It’s the ability to stand for what’s right in spite of opposition. True courage is often revealed in adverse circumstances; that is, the contrary winds drive your roots deeper.

That you’re a Christian doesn’t mean you won’t be faced with challenges. You only need to have courage to face and conquer them. You need courage to stand for what you believe, in the face of intense opposition. This was what the prophets of old, Jesus and the apostles had. I’m talking about the exceptional courage that made the apostles affirm their faith in Christ, regardless of who their adversaries were.

Similarly, you can be fortified with courage as you study and digest God’s Word into your spirit. In Joshua 1:6, the Lord said to Joshua, “Be strong and of a good courage.” This lets us know that his courage was needed to compliment the power of God available to him if he must successfully implement his God-given assignment. The same goes for you today; you must become strong and show extraordinary courage to fulfill God’s dream for you.

Act

Always do what is right, even when faced with adversity. Your ability to stand for the right things even in adverse circumstances shows you’re a courageous person.
