TO THE BIBLE: Ephesians 6:11 AMP
“Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil.”
LET’S TALK
Satan has many devious tricks he tries to use against believers to get us out of God’s will. That’s why the Lord tells us to protect ourselves by suiting up with the whole armour of God. Notice Ephesians 6:11 doesn’t say, “Pray that God would put His armour on you.” Rather, it tells you to do it yourself. Thus, it wouldn’t be right for you to beg God, like some do, for protection from Satan. That’s because your protection rests in that armour; all you need to do is put it on!
This scripture also points out that you should put on the “whole” armour of God, not just some parts of it. You’ve got to check that you don’t leave any part of it out. Have the belt of truth buckled around your waist, the bulletproof vest of righteousness over your heart, your feet covered with the boots of the gospel of peace, the helmet of salvation on your head, the sword of the Spirit (which is God’s Word) in one hand, and the shield of faith in the other hand (Ephesians 6:12-17).
God’s armour is available to you today. To put it on, simply say, “I put on the whole armour of God and stand victorious, as a good soldier, against every trick of the devil.” Remember to keep your armour on at all times, and live in continuous victory over satan.
