LET’S TALK
There’s nowhere in the world that has it on record that violence helped to redress grievances or solve national issues permanently. The spate of bombings, killings, and destruction we see in different parts of the world today by aggrieved individuals and groups are all uncalled-for, and won’t yield any positive results.
No matter how justified your grievances are, don’t wreak havoc on lives and properties in your attempt to air them. The Bible says, “A man tormented by the guilt of murder will be a fugitive till death; let no one support him” (Proverbs 28:17NIV). Judgment for the one who murders the innocent is inevitable; and those who engage in violence or foment activities that lead to loss of innocent lives do themselves great disservice without realizing it.
If you’re aggrieved about some injustice in your country, speak up against it, but do so intelligently. Reasonable, bold and intelligent citizens employ dialogue, not violence, to resolve pressing issues. Even the Lord advocates dialogue; He said, “Let us review the situation together, and you can present your case if you have one” (Isaiah 43: 26) NLT.
Don’t allow yourself become a tool in the hands of those who believe violence is the only way to voice grievances. Violence can only lead to bondage. Instead, let God help you bring the vision of your heart to reality as you yield to His Word and the inspiration of His Spirit.
