It’s your responsibility to ensure that the changes you desire in your nation are effected, and one of the ways you do this is through prayer.
TO THE BIBLE EPHESIANS 6:18
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints…”
LET’S TALK
Edmund Burke, the famed Irish statesman, is believed to have said that the only thing necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing. How true that is!
In some nations of the world today, many of the citizens point the accusing finger at their governments, and even God, for the things that go wrong. They make such statements as, “If God didn’t want this to happen, why didn’t He prevent it?” Such people are yet to recognize that the authority and responsibility to establish the will of God in the earth, and keep the devil and his demons at bay, has been delegated to the Church.
Don’t be like such folks. Learn from your youth to take responsibility, and one of the ways to do this is by praying. Pray for the young people in your country that they’ll shun vice in all its forms, and apply their energies to serving God and humanity. Pray that the Word of God will grow mightily and prevail in your country. Then also, pray that many more will hear and receive the Gospel, and that faith will be stirred in their hearts to appropriate the benefits of salvation. Make a conscious effort to pray like this for your nation until it becomes your habit.
Remember that God has given us–His children–the authority and responsibility to see to it that the events in our nations are consistent with His will. You and I can achieve this as we take up the responsibility of prayer.

Dear Father, thank you for giving me the dynamic ability to cause changes. I pray today for our nation, that you take charge of our affairs and cause your peace to reign in our land! We pray against violence, corruption and other vices that cripple development, and declare progress for our nation, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
