You’re Joined To The Lord
TO THE BIBLE: 1 Corinthians 6:17, 19-20
“…He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him…. Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
As one who’s a new creation in Christ, you’ve become one spirit with the Lord (1 Corinthians 6:17). You’re totally different from the old “you” who wasn’t born again: you’re a new unique being, and you are one spirit that’s completely inseparable from the Lord’s. Also, your body belongs to Jesus because of the immense price He paid for it on the Cross. The Bible tells us, “…your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” (1 Corinthians 6:19). In another place, it says, you as part of the Church, are “…members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.” (Ephesians 5:30). Every part of your being carries God’s DNA in it. You carry His life and divinity in you—spirit, soul, and body!
Ephesians 1:22-23 says, “And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.” He’s the one who fills everything (Ephesians 4:10), yet His fullness is the Church, which is His body. Without Him, there’s no you and without you, He’s incomplete: “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power” (Colossians 2:9-10)! These scriptures should help you understand your importance and relevance to Christ. You’re “in Him,” and He’s “in you.”
The Lord Jesus needs you as much as you need Him. Without you, He can’t reach the hurting and the lost in the world. Through you, He’s able to express His love to others on a daily basis, and establish His Kingdom in the hearts of men. You’re His extension here on earth because you hail from Him (1 John 4:4). He’s your glory as you are His, hallelujah!
Colossians 2:10; 1 John 5:20
The nature and glory of Christ is in me; therefore, I have what He says I have and I can do what He says I can do. No circumstance or situation is insurmountable to me, because I’m in Christ and my victory is assured in Him. I’m His glory just as He’s my glory. Hallelujah!
Thank the Lord for making you an inseparable part of Him; worship and give Him praise.
