LET’S TALK

He was a very successful king, who never lost a battle. The only time his kingdom ever lost a battle was when he wasn’t on the battlefield. That man was David. He is one Bible character that inspires me greatly. It tells a lot about the kind of mindset that he had.

Like David, you can, and should, always win. The life of the man in Christ ought to be that of a winner too: a life of glory, excellence, and constant victories. Your success or failure will depend on who you are and what you know. God said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” (Hosea 4:6). In other words, God’s people who suffer do so because they lack true spiritual knowledge of God’s Word. This is why in 2 Peter 1:2 NIV, Peter says, “Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.”

What this means is that all the beautiful and wonderful blessings and promises God has given you in His Word won’t do you any good if you don’t know about them, or know what to do with them. You need the knowledge of God and of Jesus to win always (2 Peter 1:2). Through this knowledge, you multiply grace and peace in your life; “peace” meaning “power over crisis.” In other words, even in the midst of the storms and troubles of life, you’re always a winner!
