(You Were Born To Walk In His Light)
TO THE BIBLE: Genesis 1:16 NASB
“God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also.”
LET’S TALK
When you’re conscious that God is a Spirit (John 4:24), You’d realise that Genesis 1:16 is much more than just the creation of the sun and the moon, but also a spiritual principle. Isaiah 24:23 says, “…The moon will be confounded and the sun ashamed, when [they compare their ineffectual fire to the light of] the Lord of hosts, Who will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before His elders will show forth His glory” (Isaiah 24:23 AMP). From this scripture, we see the Spirit of God showing us two important things.
Firstly, there’s a spiritual world that’s greater than this material world and the glory of the light in that spiritual world by far outshines that of the physical sun and the moon. Secondly, the light of that spiritual world is the Lord’s presence. Over in the New Testament, John also made an awesome statement about Zion, the New Jerusalem: “The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light…Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there)” (Revelation 21:23, 25).
Fear, poverty, sickness, hopelessness, discouragement and failure are all products of the night. If you’re born again, you’re not a child of the night, for you were born in Zion, the city of the greater light (Hebrews 12:22). You’re the offspring of the “Father of lights” (James 1:17). No wonder Ephesians 5:8 says, “…You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” The condition of your life won’t be dependent on the policies or economies in your world, when you learn to live in the reality of God’s light—which is His Word—concerning you. Continually meditate on it, and you’ll surely manifest the blessings it talks about amid the world’s turbulence.
