(God’s Spirit Lives In You!)
TO THE BIBLE: Romans 8:10-11 NIV
“But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.”
Jane, this sickness doesn’t seem like it’s going to leave my body! I’m afraid I’m going to die.”
“Hey Jennifer, don’t talk like that! You’re a Christian, that sickness can’t stay because the Spirit of God lives in you.”
“Definitely! The Holy Spirit is vitalising your body and giving life to it—that sickness cannot stay!”
“Amen!” Jennifer affirmed.
Jennifer had just given her heart to Christ recently and Jane knew this. And so, later on that day, she exhorted Jennifer on the divine life of God that was presently in her and showed her from the scriptures that if Christ (the Healer) was in her, though her body felt weak and sickly, He’d vitalise it.
Paul’s conclusion in Romans 8:10-11, upon meditating on the transcendent life in Christ, is that when you have the Holy Spirit, you shouldn’t be sick, because your body is vitalised by the same Spirit (Romans 8:11). The work of the Holy Spirit in vitalising your physical body is in the “now”; it’s not something that’ll happen when we get to Heaven; He’s working in you now! Glory to God!
The Spirit that lives in you is where the power is: His presence in you has settled the matter of sickness forever, for He “perambulates” in you, to “fix” any anomaly in your physical body. You have nothing to fear or worry about; the Holy Spirit—the Healer—lives in you! His life in you makes you unconquerable. He’s the One who made Jesus the Healer and raised Him back to life, and now, He lives in you. What you need is the consciousness of the indwelling Healer—the Spirit of God in you. Christ in you, is your hope of healing and health. Hallelujah.
1 John 5:11-12; 1 Peter 2:24; Luke 10:19
The Holy Spirit—the Healer—lives in me, therefore, I’m not susceptible to infirmity. The life of God in me makes every fibre of my being: my cells, tissues, organs, and systems, impregnable to disease and sickness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
