LOOK AWAY UNTO JESUS ; FOCUS YOUR ATTENTION ON JESUS
TO THE BIBLE; Hebrews 12:2 AMP
“Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
LET’S TALK
My science project is due in a week, and I haven’t even bought any of the things I need for it! If only I had a new pair of shoes, I’d feel more comfortable going out with my friends. Why can’t Dad and Mum quit fighting each other so much?! These were some of the thoughts that weighed heavily on Theresa’s mind. If only she realised that if she wanted a change, rather than worry about her problems, she should spent time meditating on and declaring the Word.
Do you remember the case of Peter walking on the water toward Jesus? If he had kept his gaze on the Master, instead of the billowing waves, he wouldn’t have been overwhelmed by them and began to sink. The same thing happens to many today; when they allow themselves to be overwhelmed by the magnitude of their problems, instead of focusing on the Word of God, they begin to sink. In your Christian walk, it’s important that you look away from every distraction unto the Master.
There’s no situation you can’t handle successfully with the Word of God. Make the Word of God your stay; live in the Word! Learn from Jesus; He lived the Word, though He’s the Word! He was focused, and was never distracted from the Word. He looked at the result of His faith, and for the joy that was set before Him, He endured the cross and disregarded its shame. He didn’t care what people thought about Him; His focus was to carry out the will of the Father. It should be the same with you.

SPEAK
I’m kept in perfect peace, because I stay in, and live by, God’s Word! My eyes are constantly fixed on Jesus, the Captain of my salvation, and Shepherd of my soul! I remain unperturbed irrespective of the tests, trials, and persecution that I may face, because He has made me triumphant. Blessed be God!
