TO THE BIBLE HEBREWS 12:2 NIV
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Just few weeks after Jesus’ ascension, Peter and John had a remarkable encounter with a lame man at the temple gate. This man the Bible recorded was lame from his mother’s womb and was often laid at that gate to ask alms from people going in. The Bible says “…Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us” (Acts 3:4 KJV). In other words, he asked the man to give them his attention!
Expecting to get some money, the lame man promptly gave them his attention, but he got much more! Instead of giving him money, Peter said to the man: “…Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Peter didn’t stop there; “Taking him by the right hand, he (Peter) helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God” (Acts 3:6-8 NIV). Glory to God!
