(You’re Exactly Like The Lord Jesus)
TO THE BIBLE: Romans 8:29 CEV
“And he has always known who his chosen ones would be. He had decided to let them become like his own Son, so that his Son would be the first of many children.”
LET’S TALK
To the religious mind, the Lord Jesus is “so great” and we’re “so small,” like little ants. However, when you look at the opening scripture closely, you’ll see that God planned for all His children to “…become like his own Son….” His purpose, from the foundation of the world, for His children (including you) whom He knew ahead of time and predestined, was for them to be exactly like the Lord Jesus.
Jesus is our big brother, and He is not far away or distant. Matthew 28:20 NIV says, “…And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” He’s right among us, fully identified with us and inseparable from us. We aren’t children of different parents; Jesus isn’t our half-brother; we’re born of the same stock, born of the same heavenly Father. This is too big for the religious mind, but it’s the reality.
This is what Christianity is about—it’s the reason we study our Bibles, pray, go to church, and do everything we do as Christians—it’s to be conformed to the exact image of the Lord Jesus Christ. God doesn’t want there to be any difference between us and Jesus; He wants all men, angels, and demons to look at us and see our Christ-nature and recognise our Christ-identity. I would to God that all God’s children would catch this truth today! It’ll get rid of the beggarly attitude of some Christians. When you realise that God’s desire and purpose for you is for you to be like Him, it’ll put a spring in your steps! Live with this consciousness today.

Pray
Dear Father, thank you for predestining me to be exactly like the Lord Jesus. I’m the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person! I’m fully united and identified with Jesus. Thank you for this unspeakable honour and privilege in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
