LET’S TALK
Some people pray as though God is reluctant to answer their prayers. Others cry and beg God while praying, as though He’s holding back the answers from them. Yet, others assume He’ll only hear them if they beg Him long enough, but He’s not impressed by lengthy prayers.
These are all wrong approaches to prayer. Prayer is communication between you and the King of kings, and it ought to be enjoyable!
The truth is, God loves to answer your prayers (John 16:24), and He wants you, as His child, to be bold when you pray. The Bible says for us to “…come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). I like to paraphrase it this way, ‘Come up boldly!’
Let’s take an example from our Lord Jesus. At the grave of Lazarus, before many Jews, He said, “Father, I thank you for answering my prayer. I know that you always answer my prayers. But I said this, so that the people here would believe that you sent me” (John 11:41-42). What boldness of faith! He was so confident that He had been heard, and of course a miracle followed. In your prayer life, be bold when you pray and make requests.
