IMPROVE YOURSELF
(There’s Always Room For Improvement)
“How do I study better and improve my grades?” This is the kind of thinking that produces excellence and stands you out from the crowd.
TO THE BIBLE PROVERBS 16:16 NIV
“How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver!”
LET’S TALK
We live in a fast-paced world where new technology and innovation spring up practically every day. It has therefore become increasingly important not only to improve on existing skills, but also to learn new ones. People who don’t consciously add value to themselves this way will soon be unable to contribute meaningfully and compete in today’s world.
There are two sides to adding value to yourself. The first is to learn new skills in addition to what you already have. Don’t be comfortable being an expert at just one thing; read, study, research, and pay the price to learn new things. The second side to adding value to yourself is to take definite steps to learn something new and innovative in line with what you already know and are skilful at.
You must constantly improve your mind to think thoughts that produce excellence and stand you out from the crowd. Proverbs 10:4 tells us, “Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.” The one who refuses to improve himself is dealing with a lazy hand and will eventually become poor, but the one who diligently improves himself in all areas of his life will be rich! He’ll keep getting greater and wealthier through the changing seasons of life.

RELATE: Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for granting me the wisdom and intelligence I need to function at a higher level of excellence and proficiency in all that I do. That wisdom is increased today, and it causes me to acquire the necessary skill and proficiency I require for the next level, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
