(He’s Closer To You Than You Think)
TO THE BIBLE: John 14:10 TLB
“Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I say are not my own but are from my Father who lives in me. And he does his work through me.”
The Lord Jesus, when He walked the earth, walked in union with the Father, and was constantly mindful of the Father’s indwelling and abiding presence. When He said in the above verse, “…my Father who lives in me…” He was referring to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. Become conscious that you’re not alone; you’re in the Father, and the Father is in you! You’re one with Him. 1 Corinthians 6:17 talks about your inseparable union with the Father: “…He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” This is the reason you can enjoy rich fellowship with Him, and walk in union with Him.
There’s no need to cry out to Him, as though He were far away and might not hear you. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “…if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation….” You came into Christ by the new birth. So, you’re in Him now. Christ in you, is the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27). Thus, like Jesus, when He said, “…I am in the Father and the Father in Me…” (John 14:11), you also are in the Father, and the Father is in you! Hallelujah!
That means no more fears; no more worries; no more darkness, confusion or uncertainty about the future! The One who is all-knowing and all-powerful, lives in you! No wonder He says in 1 John 4:4, “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
Philippians 2:13; John 15:5
Dear Holy Spirit, thank you for taking residence in me, walking in, with, and through me! Your indwelling and abiding presence has made me a master in life. Thank you for the glory of your presence in my life in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
