The Most Important Thing
“For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me. What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel” (1 CORINTHIANS 9:16-18)
Why are we living?
Why are we doing all the things we’re doing? One reason only – our salvation! All our accomplishments, glories, life’s visions and everything else we do in this world without salvation is nothing. Your personal salvation should be the most important thing in your life, so don’t give it away! There are people who have toiled so hard and worked so much for God and at the end lost their salvation because they departed from the path God had chosen for them.
It doesn’t matter how many conferences you attend or how many people you lead to Christ, if you lose your salvation, you’ve lost everything!
You’re here for your salvation, don’t destroy it. Let no man lead you astray and don’t lead yourself astray! You’re surrounded by hawks and beasts who would do just about anything to lead you away from your salvation. When God called Abraham He called him alone, you also came into this world alone.
You’re here for your salvation and to help someone else find his salvation. If this task is left unaccomplished, then there’s no reason for your living.
Yes, you have received Christ into your life, but that’s only the beginning.
You’ve only just entered your calling, and that’s not enough. You have to build yourself in Christ and grow in the Word. Learn about Him through His Word so that many more will come to know Him and be saved through you.
