Your Pathway to Greatness: Serving people through your works selflessly will make God mindful of you, and bless you as well. God wll cause everything you do to prosper.
TO THE BIBLE Matthew 20:26-28 NIV
“Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
LET’S TALK
The Bible says there’s profit in all labour (Proverbs 14:23). In other words, when you faithfully render service, you’ll make profit and prosper. It doesn’t matter the task or responsibility you’re given, when your focus is to do it excellently, your greatness will be inevitable. Laziness and greed have stopped many from serving and giving their best as they should. Don’t let that be your story. Don’t let the desire for fleeting, selfish gain be your driving force in life.
Today, the Lord is letting you know that whoever must be great should be a servant. The word “servant” as used here is from the Greek word “diakonos,” which means an attendant, one who serves or runs errands for others; one who renders selfless service. Get excited about rendering selfless service, both to God and to mankind. Let the joy of service become your motivation.
God is mindful and concerned about people more than anything else. So, when you take up such spiritual services as preaching the gospel and praying for people in your sphere of contact, the Lord will be mindful of you and bless you as well. He’ll cause everything you do to prosper. Be inspired by the importance and relevance of your service towards the betterment of people and your society. Make yourself needed, relevant and indispensable to your generation by choosing to serve; that is the pathway to greatness.
