“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

LET’S TALK

What is courage? It’s the ability and the will to do what is right or necessary, even in the face of adversity. It’s the will and ability to stand for what is right in spite of opposition. Courage has to do with affirming your faith in Christ, no matter who your adversaries are. When you’re courageous, you understand that every challenge is an opportunity to make progress since the contrary winds drive your roots deeper.

As you live your life daily, you need courage. You need courage to attend to your school work, you need courage to confront situations, you need courage to face your friends; you need courage to attain excellence. You need courage to do what God has called you to do.

Courage is the character of your spirit that makes you do anything for the gospel of Jesus Christ. It’s the reason you can give anything for Christ. Courage is what got the Church of Jesus Christ to where it is today. Had the apostles and prophets of old not exhibited courage by standing for what was right in spite of opposition, the gospel wouldn’t have gone around the world.

God wants you to be a boy or girl of courage who can stand up for what’s right, not in the eyes of people, but in His eyes. He wants you to be someone who’s not afraid to stand out from the general class, but is always ready to put His Word first before making any move in life. It’s your responsibility to affirm your faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ, irrespective of the challenges that come your way.

I am bold and courageous, for the Holy Spirit resides in me. I can stand up for what is right and affirm my faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ, irrespective of my adversaries and the challenges because the author of courage is living in me. Amen.
