GOD IS NOT MAD AT YOU!

“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them…” (2 Corinthians 5:19).

God is not holding your sins against you. He’s not mad at you. You say, “Even after all the terrible things I’ve done?” Yes. The Bible lets us know that the sins of everyone in the whole world were laid on Jesus.

There’s no one today that should bear the punishment for his or her sins. Jesus already bore the punishment and consequences for all your sins. He was judged for your sake: “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).

Often, we inadvertently do or say the wrong things, but God has made provision for our automatic cleansing: “If we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us from all sin” (1 John 1:7); notice He gave no conditions for the cleansing; so you never have to worry about unknown sins in your life.

Then in the ninth verse it says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Thus, after you’re born again, if you do something wrong, and confess it to the Father, He’s dependable and can be trusted to forgive you and cleanse you, not only from that sin, but from all unrighteousness; isn’t that wonderful?

God is not wielding a big stick over you to strike you anytime you do something wrong, no! He’s a loving Father, who’s able to keep you from falling and present you holy, unblameable and unreproveable in his sight (Colossians 1:22). He’s not mad at you! He took the responsibility, and paid the full penalty for all your sins—both past present and future.
