TO THE BIBLE: Hebrews 12:10 MSG
“While we were children, our parents did what seemed best to them. But God is doing what is best for us, training us to live God’s holy best.”
LET’S TALK
When the children of Israel were thirsty in the wilderness, God instructed Moses to strike a rock with his rod for it to produce water. When Moses did, water came out from the rock and the people drank.
The next time the people wanted water, God specifically instructed Moses to talk to the rock in the presence of the people. But Moses didn’t talk to the rock; instead, he struck it in anger, and water came out in abundance (Numbers 20:11). But just because water came out from the rock didn’t mean God wanted it that way and God was displeased with Moses.
That something worked the way you wanted it doesn’t mean it’s God’s best for you. He wants you to follow His perfect will for your life. Understand that you’re His child, and He would never hold back any good thing from you. Get to know what He wants and how He wants it from His Word and through the guidance of His Spirit. Align yourself with His perfect will, not by you telling Him what you want, but by finding out from Him what He wants for your life.

Pray
Dear Father, thank you for demonstrating your love for me by guiding me into your perfect will for my life. As I follow your Word and Spirit, my dreams, ambitions, and aspirations slip off to the sidelines, while your divine plan and purpose for me take centre place in my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
