Pastor Chris Oyakhilome,
“LOOK THIS WAY PLEASE!”
(Give Your Attention To God’s Word)
TO THE BIBLE
Proverbs 4:20-22 NASB
“My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them and health to all their body.”
LET’S TALK
God desires to have your attention all the time. He wants you thinking about Him and talking His Word continuously. He knows if He has your attention, you’ll be led and guided into the destiny He’s planned for you. He knows what’s best for you and what your life should be. There’s therefore nothing for you to worry over, except to live confidently and joyfully every day, knowing He’s with you, in you, and for you. He has everything required to bring you into the inheritance and destiny He’s ordained for you.
The Lord is your exceeding great reward (Genesis 15:1). To have Him is to have everything, because He’s all you’ll ever need in life and more. By that, I mean He’s your satisfaction. This is why you must not allow anything distract you or take your focus away from serving Him. Set your affection on Him and on the things He cares about.
Remember, you’re not of this world, therefore, your affection shouldn’t be on the things of this world. The Bible says, “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:1-3). All that you are, and all that you have, are in Him. He’s your reason for being. Trust Him with your life, and He’ll order your steps and direct the affairs of your life to be in sync with His perfect will for you.
GO DEEPER
Psalms 34:8
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
:9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
:10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
PRAY
Blessed be God, in whom I live, and move, and have my being. How I love and appreciate you today! I live for you alone, and rejoice that I belong to you, to fulfil all the good pleasure of your goodness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
