(What The Lord Would Like This Christmas)
TO THE BIBLE: Luke 2:10-12
“Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
“See you at 7pm,” Gracia waved cheerily at her friends as they parted ways after a day out at the mall. It was Christmas Eve, and her family had a tradition of hosting a dinner where they had a great time with family and friends, as they reflected on and appreciated the birth of Christ. At the dinner, everyone took turns to talk about what the Lord would want from each one at Christmas.
Have you ever asked yourself, “What would the Lord like as a gift this Christmas?” I’ll show you what He’d like: The birth of Jesus Christ, which is celebrated all over the world at Christmas, is just as significant as His death, burial and resurrection. At Christmas, God wants you to recognise the reason Christ was born—He was born to die for the sins of the whole world! In other words, He came to save men from their sins.
That’s the truth that God wants you to be conscious of. Jesus died, but He rose again from the dead and lives in you now! And He would like the experience of your salvation to make a difference in the world. He wants to bless and transform lives through you, because you’re His mouthpiece and outstretched hands in the world today. What He wants is that you yield yourself to Him, and let Him touch someone’s life through you today. He wants you to influence your world for Jesus.
Mark 16:15-16, 2 Timothy 1:8-10
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for the birth of Jesus Christ which is celebrated all over the world this period; I pray that the purpose of Christ’s birth, death, burial and resurrection will be a vital experience not only in my own life, but in the lives of my friends, family members, loved ones and all who are at this time celebrating the yuletide, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
