TO THE BIBLE: 1 Timothy 6:12
“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold an eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
The fight of faith is not a battle with devils, because the Lord never told us to do battle with them. He only says we should cast them out (Mark 16:17). If you check the Scriptures, you’ll discover that the only fight you’re called into is the fight of faith. The Bible calls it a “good” fight, and that’s because you’re on the winning side. The Lord Jesus overcame the devil, the world, and its systems. All that’s left for you to do as a Christian is to grasp all that He accomplished in your behalf.
In the fight of faith, you believe what the Lord has given you and hold on to it, no matter what your human senses perceive. You stand on God’s Word and refuse to be shaken by contrary winds. It’s not the time to lament about how you feel or what you’re going through in your circumstances; rather, it’s time to stick with God’s testimony about you.
For instance, God’s Word already says you were healed (1 Peter 2:24). If the symptoms of sickness suddenly appear, it’s the devil throwing missiles at you. You should ward them off with your shield of faith. Declare that you were healed by the stripes of the Lord Jesus, according to the Word of God! The Bible says, “…Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). When you resist the devil with your faith-filled words, he has no choice than to flee from you in terror.
Dear Father, I recognize this day that you gave me your Word as a potent weapon to ward off every advance of the enemy. As your Word fills my heart, inspiring me unto greater levels of faith, I take advantage of it to win and come out of every situation victoriously, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Don’t give up on the Word! Declare these faith-based confessions right away:
- “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world!” (1 John 4:4)
- I’m more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus!” (Romans 8:37).
