God’s Word is the food for your recreated human spirit, and for you to be strong and vibrant in your spirit, you need to feed on the Word. No wonder the Lord Jesus said man shouldn’t live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). That way, even your body becomes productive and fruitful, with your mind becoming renewed and shielded against the devil’s thoughts and ideas.
Learn to prize God’s Word above your necessary physical food! Remember that the forces of life are resident in your spirit. God’s life, character and nature were deposited in your human spirit when you were born again, and as you feed on the Word (through study and meditation), you get to bring out those divine qualities from your spirit.
For example, if you notice you’ve got a difficulty with your studies, take a serving of God’s Word by meditating on scriptures that address the issue. As you do this, you’ll get revitalised to do better in your academics. That’s the reason Psalm 119:99-100 says, “I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation.” So, continue to experience nourishment and freshness in your spirit and, ultimately, your whole life by feeding on God’s Word every day.
