FALL IN LOVE WITH JESUS;
(When You Love The Lord, You Show It Everywhere)
TO THE BIBLEProverbs 23:26 AMPC
“My son, give me your heart and let your eyes observe and delight in my ways.”
“Roger, are you the only Christian on earth? The way you serve God these days is so over the top! Why don’t you just relax a bit!” Georgine pleaded.
Roger smiled and replied, “I just love the Lord so much; that’s why I serve Him with my whole being.” Roger was known for spending his weekends visiting people at home and telling them about Jesus; he’d even faced a gang of boys in a club and got them born again. This worried Georgine, Roger’s friend, and made her blurt out her earlier statement. She thought he was overdoing it all!
Perhaps, like Georgine, others might think you’re crazy for loving the Lord and serving Him this way, but no one is ever a fool for following and loving Jesus Christ. Living for Him and giving Him your very best is the highest calling and greatest honor (2 Corinthians 5:15).
This was David’s mentality as seen in 2 Samuel 24:24 (GNB) where he said, “…I will not offer to the LORD my God sacrifices that have cost me nothing….” For him, only the very best was good enough for God. No wonder he had so much wisdom and wealth. When you give the Lord your all and trust Him with your life, He’ll make your life pleasurable and worth living.
When you give Him the best of you and the best of what you have, He’ll reward you for your action of faith and trust. Walking with the Lord positions you for the glory-life; you become as a tree planted by the rivers of water, and everything you do prospers (Psalm 1:3). You experience maximum fulfillment and joy in life because your passion, emotions, desires, and appetites are founded on Christ.
Deuteronomy 6:5 MSG
Love GOD, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that’s in you, love him with all you’ve got!
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint.
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Dear Lord, my life is for your glory. I live to bring you honor as I serve you with passion and wholehearted devotion. Thank you for the opportunity to know and serve you, and to express your love and righteousness to my world. Amen.
