(Exercise Authority Over Your Body)
TO THE BIBLE: Luke 10:19
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
LET’S TALK
As a child of God, your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost and the Spirit of God dwells in you (1 Corinthians 6:19). This means your body is not yours; it belongs to God. However, He has made you caretaker of your body, so He expects you to keep watch over it, maintain it in a healthy condition, and decide what to allow or disallow from it. This is the reason you must learn to exercise authority over your body by rejecting sickness, disease and infirmity. Sometimes, Christians unwittingly and ignorantly make the wrong confessions over their bodies. For instance, someone says “Oh, I have this growth on my shoulder” or “I always wake up with headaches.”
When people talk this way, they’re actually nursing and pampering sickness in their bodies without realising it. You ought to exercise your God-given authority and say “In the Name of Jesus, I refuse to accommodate headaches.” Say, “I cut out this growth from my body in Jesus’ Name!” Remember, Jesus said, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19). This should let you know that you’re not ordinary; refuse to be infected by any sickness, disease or infirmity.
When sickness tries to fasten itself to your body, reject it. Tell your body how it should feel, and don’t accommodate sickness; cut it out with the Word of God! Tell your body what to do, and it will respond. Don’t say, “I’ve got allergies.” Rather take charge of your body’s responses; use your tongue to control every situation. Say, “In the Name of Jesus, I refuse to accommodate negative reactions in my body,” and your body will comply with your words.

Pray
My body is the temple of the Holy Ghost; every fiber of my being—from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet—is vitalised by the Spirit of God. The life of God in me destroys sickness, disease and infirmity; therefore I’m “uninfectable.” Hallelujah!
