(You’re Like Your Heavenly Father)
TO THE BIBLE: John 1:12-13
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
This scripture holds one of the most powerful truths revealed to us in the gospels about the new creation. I urge you to take some time today and meditate on it. To be born again is to be born of God. It means to be born of the Spirit and the Word of God. It means to have the life, nature and character of God, to be born into His class of being. From the very beginning, God determined to give us eternal life. We’re more than creatures living in the earth; we’re those in whom divinity dwells. He gave us eternal life to lift us to His class of being: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
If you’re born again, it means you’re in Christ, and if you’re in Christ, you’re a new creation—a new kind of person, existing in God’s class. That doesn’t mean you’re equal with God; it only means that you’re in His class. No wonder He calls us joint heirs (Romans 8:17), and partakers of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). So He remains your God and your heavenly Father; He is greater than you are, but then you can relate with Him at the same level like a child would relate with his father.
Since you were born in the image and likeness of God, His divine life has supplanted (completely replaced) your human life and brought you into God’s realm of life. The life in you now is Zoë—the God-life! It’s not susceptible to sickness, disease, failure or death and could never be! You’ve been lifted to God’s class.
John 3:5-8; 1 Peter 1:23
Dear Father, I thank you for your divine life that has completely inundated my entire being—spirit, soul and body! This life in me makes me supernatural, and impregnable to defeat, sickness, disease, failure and death and the devil, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
