The word “prosper” in the scripture above means to excel, succeed and do well in the totality of your being—spirit, soul, and body. This is not just about money, riches and other material wealth. It’s about total wellbeing. It means having the blessing of God on your life, such that you’re able to impart the same life to someone else.

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth

It means the manifestation of God’s grace upon your life which causes everything that concerns you to succeed exceedingly; to enjoy prosperity that comes with riches, wealth, happiness, peace and fulfilment. The reason God wants you to prosper is for the furtherance of the gospel! This means He wants everything that concerns you to succeed exceedingly; He wants you to experience abundant riches, wealth, happiness, peace and fulfillment—for the furtherance of the gospel!
