ABSOLUTES, NOT ASSUMPTIONS!
(In Christianity, We Deal With Truth)
👤Pastor Chris
TO THE BIBLE: Ephesians 1:15-17
“Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him . ”
◀️LET’S TALK
I n school, we are taught so many theories that are based mostly on the assumption of certain conditions; archaeologists, for example, draw conclusions based on assumed timelines. Some have even gone further to try to justify their findings based on intuitive knowledge, a gut feeling. Even Bible scholars have tried to explain certain scriptures based on speculations. However, in Christianity, we deal with truths–absolutes—and not assumptions as found in religion. Truth is reality. It’s called “absolute knowledge” (or Epignosis in Greek). In the realm of truth, all doubts are dissolved; you just “know” and such revelation is imparted to your spirit.
As a teenager, I witnessed about the Lord with such confidence and certainty that my friends wondered at my boldness and often asked: “How can you be so confident? Were you there?” I didn’t have any doubt about Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection from the dead! God raised Him from the dead , and I testified accordingly. Not because I was there when it happened, but because the revelation knowledge was granted me, and it gave me a certain mindset by which I live.
The Bible says, “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life…” (John 3:36). When we believed, eternal life was imparted to our spirits , and we were awakened to the Fatherhood of God! We moved from being “believers” to “knowers” and “havers.” In Christianity, we know; we don’t speculate.
In Christianity, you’re brought into the arena of “reality” or “divine knowledge”. Read our opening verse again; i t says the Father wants the revelation — the truth of your inheritance and origin in Christ Jesus—and your oneness with Him to flood your heart and inundate your mind. This isn’t religion; this is truth—absolute reality!
