HE GIVES MORE ABILITY!
The Hebrew word translated “strength” in Proverbs 24: is “kôach”; it’s also translated “ability” or “power” in several other places in the Scriptures. For example, in Isaiah 40:29, the same Hebrew word is translated “power”: “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”
This means God gives more ability or strength to the weak. Proverbs 24:5 tells us that a man of knowledge increases ability. That means through the knowledge of God’s Word, you multiply your abilities; you discover that there’s so much more you can do. God gives us responsibilities according to the abilities that He’s given to us. Therefore, no matter what you do, there’s divine ability working in you; however, you’ll never be able to do beyond the ability of God that’s working in you! You can’t do more than He has graced you for.
There’re people who have the ability to run a business, and handle money in multiplied millions. Some have the ability to run a mid-scale business, while some others can only operate on a small scale. In the area of leadership it’s the same thing; you can only lead to the extent of the ability granted you.
Now, what God does for you when He wants to upgrade your life is to increase your ability; your capacity to do more. James 4:6 says “But he giveth more grace….” He gives you more grace, and grace, amongst other blessings, brings abilities into your life because He desires to accomplish more through you. He makes you more efficient, such that with the same efforts you used to put in, you’d produce greater results.
