“…What is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places], far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come.”
LET’S TALK
From our opening scripture, the word “rule” means two things: “the authority that governs” and “the decree by which authority governs.” In other words, it refers to the rulership and its rules. The Word of God lets us know that Jesus Christ has been set far above all rule, authority, power, dominion, and every name that is named, or title that can be conferred, not only in this age and world but also in the age and world to come.
Wow! Jesus has the most powerful name there is; He’s got everything under His authority, and this is not going to change! He’s the reigning King, and His reign is forever! Ephesians 2:6 says, “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus” (NIV). So you’re seated with Christ, far above all rule.
The Wuest Translation renders the words “far above all rule” in Ephesians 1:21 as “over and above every government.” This means you’re not of this world, but from the government of heaven. Wherever you go in this world, always remember that you’re over and above every rule, authority, and government; you play by a different set of rules. Have this consciousness that you’re not an ordinary person.

Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for the authority you’ve given me in the Name of Jesus. I declare that as I function in that Name, every evil work around me is destroyed, and only those things that are consistent with your plans and purposes for me are established, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
