KEEP YOUR KIT ON
(Put On God’s Armour Before “The Evil Day”)
TO THE BIBLE Ephesians 6:12-13 CEV
“For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age. So put on God’s armor now! Then when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist the enemy’s attacks; and after fighting to the end, you will still hold your ground.”
LET’S TALK➡
The Apostle Paul says in Ephesians 5:16 that we ought to be “redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” Each day comes with its negative influences and circumstances, but God expects that we master each day and walk in the dominion of the Spirit. On the other hand, I’ll like to point out his more emphasised admonition in today’s opening verse. He refers to a specific day of trouble—“the evil day”—the day when trouble strikes. Can such a day be anticipated and nipped in the bud? Emphatically, yes! Through the guidance of the Word and the Holy Spirit in your life, you’ll always be victorious in this day of trouble.
It’s no use praying for God to protect you from or dreading the evil day. He’s already told you what to do, and that’s to put on the whole armour of God! Don’t wait till it comes before you wear your kit; keep it on always, so that in that day of adversity, you’ll come out unscathed and victorious. Refuse to be caught unawares.
Resist and prevail against the onslaught of satan by acting on the Word: Stand firm with the belt of truth buckled around your waist! Have on the breastplate of righteousness. Have your feet fitted and ready to proclaim the Gospel of peace. Above all, take the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the rhema (spoken Word) of God (Ephesians 6:14-17). God’s Word is the solution, answer, ability, and empowerment that you need in the day of trouble. Therefore, take your study and meditation on the Word seriously. Respond always with the Word and you’ll forever be victorious.

Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us [a]diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
1 John 4:4
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5
For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
Pray?
Dear Father, your Word prevails in me and puts me over always. I triumph gloriously over the adversary and all adversities by the power of your Word, through which I totally discomfit, render inoperative and ineffective, the wiles, and machinations of the enemy, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
