PARENTS ARE COOL TOO
(Don’t Disregard Parental Counsel)
TO THE BIBLE Proverbs 1:8-9 GNB?
“My child, pay attention to what your father and mother tell you. Their teaching will improve your character as a handsome turban or a necklace improves your appearance.”
LET’S TALK➡
Some teenagers think that their parents aren’t trendy enough to guide them in areas of fashion and clothing, future careers, and when it comes to choosing friends. That’s not always the case. Today’s opening scripture clearly helps you understand the value of parental guidance in your life as a young person. The instructions that they give you are actually part of God’s great gifts to you, to help you develop solid character and discipline. They provide for you the necessary foundation you require to build a great life indeed. Parents can be up-to-date and cool too!
As a young guy, my parents instilled in me the habit of going to church regularly and studying the Bible, including every other material they deemed relevant. If they hadn’t put me on the right path of life through their instructions and admonitions, I wouldn’t have grown up with the necessary character qualities needed for true success; neither would I have been disciplined enough to practise the essential values the Bible talks about.
Therefore, I urge you to cherish and obey the words of instruction that your parents give you as you stay under their care and nurture. Their role in helping you grow up responsibly is so important and can’t be over-emphasised. If you value their guidance and supervision as God’s Word instructs, your obedience will surely be a springboard that catapults you into distinctive greatness in life.

Proverbs 4:1
Hear, my children, the instruction of a father,
And give attention to know understanding;
Proverbs 10:17
He who keeps instruction is in the way of life,
But he who refuses correction [a]goes astray.
Pray?
Dear Father, I thank you for giving me an obedient heart. I am more determined than ever before to walk in the light of your Word regarding my relationship with my parents. And as I do this, I receive the blessings that your Word talks about, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
