(Be Thankful Always!)
TO THE BIBLE: Ephesians 5:20 AMP
“At all times and for everything giving thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.”
LET’S TALK
Danny had a scowl on his face because he had scored B’s in Economics and Math. “What’s there to be thankful for, when I didn’t get what I wanted?” he fumed. His sense of fulfilment was hinged entirely on getting straight A’s; nothing less could satisfy him or make him happy. He failed to realise there were so many others, just as smart as himself, who didn’t even have the opportunity to study in such a good school as his.
People like Danny fail to appreciate the progress they’ve made, or the blessings of God in their lives. They’re constantly troubled by and fixated on their self-perceived flaws and inadequacies. They’re quick to complain, “I haven’t got what I want yet!” Truth is, there’re always things to be grateful for, and you’ve got to identify them and be thankful for them. The air you breathe and the life you live today are enough reason for you to be thankful. Think about the knowledge you’ve acquired so far. Haven’t you learnt something new? Hasn’t your prayer life become richer? What about those times the Lord saved you from trouble, and the times He guided you on how to handle a difficult situation?
You’ve got to consider all these as blessings and improvements the Spirit of God has brought into your life, centre your mind on them and be excited about what He has accomplished in you!
Learn to be content with what the Lord has blessed you with, and please Him in all things. Serve Him joyfully, irrespective and independent of circumstances. Put Him first in your life and be thankful and excited about your life, and how He’s leading you.

Dear Lord, I acknowledge your faithfulness towards me! You’ve qualified me to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. Thank you for making my life the effulgence of your righteousness, beauty, wisdom, and grace, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
