(You’re Fully Connected To The Master)
TO THE BIBLE: John 15:1, 4-5
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser… Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
LET’S TALK
The scripture above shows the tight, inseparable bond that exists between Jesus and His body—the Church. We’re one with Him. If you study the story of Saul of Tarsus’ meeting the Lord on the road to Damascus, you’ll understand this clearer. Prior to his conversion, Saul had been a terror to the early church, for he persecuted Christians everywhere. But one day, on his way to Damascus, he had an encounter with Jesus, who called out and asked, ““Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting…”” (Acts 9:4-5).
That’s an amazing response from the Lord! He is fully identified with you, so much so He takes any attack on you (His Body) as an attack against Him. That’s why He says, “Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me – you did it to me” (Matthew 25:40 MSG). He loves you and always identifies with you! You’ve got His very life, and He’s brought you into complete union with Himself. This is definitely something to rejoice and shout about!
When you have this consciousness, you’d treat other believers as you would Jesus, because you understand that you’re a member of the same body, the same flesh, and of the same bones (Ephesians 5:30)!
