Pastor Chris Oyakhilome;
“UNHURTABLE!”
(Make It Impossible For Anyone To Hurt You!)
TO THE BIBLE
Colossians 3:13 TLB
“Be gentle and ready to forgive; never hold grudges. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.”
LET’S TALK
“I’ll never forgive Mike for what he did to me. He embarrassed me in front of the entire class!” Stan fumed.
Are you like Stan who easily gets hurt or offended? I made up my mind a long time ago not to be hurt or offended by what someone else says about me or does to me. I grew through the Word and the Holy Spirit to become that way. I found out that as long as I’m in pursuit of God’s pursuits and the fulfillment of His own dreams and not mine, then it didn’t matter what anybody did to me.
If you can still be hurt by what someone said or did to you, you’ve not grown enough. You’re still too concerned about yourself. When you become more like Jesus and leave yourself behind, you’ll be amazed at the greater life you’ll live. Then, you’ll live above all the wrong others say or do against you.
I challenge you today to let go of all that baggage of the hurtful things people said or did to you, so you can flow in the anointing of God’s Spirit and move with Him, doing great exploits every day by His power.
GO DEEPER
Hebrews 12:1 CEV
Such a large crowd of witnesses is all around us! So we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially the sin that just won’t let go. And we must be determined to run the race that is ahead of us.
:2 We must keep our eyes on Jesus, who leads us and makes our faith complete. He endured the shame of being nailed to a cross, because he knew later on he would be glad he did. Now he is seated at the right side of God’s throne!
:3 So keep your mind on Jesus, who put up with many insults from sinners. Then you won’t get discouraged and give up.
Hebrews 12:14-15 MSG
Work at getting along with each other and with God. Otherwise you’ll never get so much as a glimpse of God. Make sure no one gets left out of God’s generosity. Keep a sharp eye out for weeds of bitter discontent.
PRAY
Dear Father, I thank you for teaching me your Word today and showing me how to live above offence and bitterness. I will not hold anything against anyone who may wrong me, but I’ll be quick to forgive just as Christ forgave me. And I will walk in love toward everyone and move in the power of your Spirit every day, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
