THE EXTRAORDINARY LIFE OF THE MASTER
(Everything About The Lord Jesus Was Extraordinary)
TO THE BIBLE – Mark 4:41 KJV
“And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him.”
LET’S TALK
Every moment of the Lord Jesus’ life on earth was nothing short of extraordinary. His death, burial, and resurrection were just as extraordinary. Normally, a person crucified on a cross would take at least thirteen hours to die. But Jesus, after only six hours, willingly gave up His spirit.
As He hung on the cross, He cried out to God, saying, “…Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit.” Having said this, He breathed His last. (Luke 23:46). A soldier, wanting to confirm He was really dead, pierced His side with a spear. To everyone’s shock, blood and water flowed out—proof that His heart had ruptured. They didn’t expect Him to die so quickly.
His resurrection was also extraordinary. Upon the request of the Jewish leaders, the Romans had sealed the grave where He was buried with a huge stone and assigned armed soldiers to watch it. On the third day, an angel, glittering like the sun, came down from heaven and moved the great stone away and sat on it, and the Lord Jesus gloriously emerged from the grave. He was later with His disciples for forty days and forty nights.
On the day He was to ascend from the earth, He didn’t suddenly disappear. While talking with His disciples and giving them instructions, He levitated from the ground, defying gravity. His disciples watched in utter amazement as He kept ascending, until He went all the way into the clouds. What an extraordinary moment!
The Bible says one day—and it’s not very far away—this same Jesus will return in an extraordinary fashion, and the whole world will see Him. It’s going to be a most glorious day, and we’re getting ready for it. He’s called us to an extraordinary life of glory, excellence and grace, and He wants us to make this life known to others and prepare them for His glorious return.
GO DEEPER
John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
Matthew 27:50-54 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; 52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. 54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
Acts 1:10-11 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
PRAY
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the extraordinary life of power and glory that I have in you. Thank you for making me a vessel to spread the message of salvation and prepare the hearts of people for the Lord’s soon return in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
