LET’S TALK
Some people think that Jesus only came to save us from sin and the devil, but that’s not the reason He came. Yes, He saved us from sin and satan, but He came for much more than that. He came to do much more.
Yes, He saved us from sin, and delivered us from the devil and the wickedness that’s in the world, but all that was a means to an end. The Bible says, “And He brought us out from there, that He might bring us in to give us the land which He swore to give our fathers” (Deuteronomy 6:23 AMPC).
In the foregoing scripture, there are three important points to note. First, is that “He brought us out”; second, is the reason He brought us out—it’s so that He might “bring us in.” The third is the ultimate purpose, which is “to give us the land.” The whole idea wasn’t about bringing us out.
He saved us, not so we could flee from the devil, but for a purpose—to bring us into something—our place in Christ; our inheritance in Him. In Acts 26:18, Paul the Apostle narrated how the Lord Jesus sent him to the Gentiles, “To open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.”
When you come to Christ, you not only receive remission or the removal of sin, you receive an inheritance (Ephesians 1:11). No Christian ought to be broke or poor.
The Bible says we’re joint-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). A Christian may call himself poor, and may go without, but that doesn’t make him poor; he’s only ignorant of what belongs to him. God’s plan is to make you and Christ one; that’s His purpose, and He’s already done it.
