WHY SEARCH FOR WHAT YOU HAVE? (Recognise The Indwelling Presence Of The Holy Spirit)

▶️ LET’S TALK
Some Christians sing ignorant songs imploring the Holy Spirit to “come down from Heaven” or “fall afresh” upon them. They could sing such songs and get so emotional and cry, thinking they’re getting blessed. But the truth is, they’re not really getting blessed; rather, such songs create a certain kind of unbelief that’s difficult to cure, resulting in their faith getting weaker and more and more ineffective.
How could a Christian ask the Holy Spirit to fall afresh on him when the Holy Spirit is with us and in us forever? It’s a painful thing to see God’s children in search of what they already have. Jesus said, “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever” (John 14:16). Since the Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost, He hasn’t gone back, and He’ll never leave us.
The Holy Spirit is no longer in Heaven. Instead, He lives in us! He’s the indwelling Christ. When the Apostle Paul prayed in Ephesians 3:17 “…that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith…,” he was praying for the spiritually immature. Notice he said, “your hearts” and not “our hearts”; that’s because he (Paul) was already living in the consciousness of the indwelling Christ.
You don’t need to look outside for solutions. You don’t need to look up to Heaven either; that would be looking for something you already have. Everything you could ever ask for has been granted you (2 Peter 1:3). Learn to recognise the presence of the indwelling Christ in you. Your search ends when you get to know Him; He makes the realities of Heaven real to you. Colossians 1:27 says, “…Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Recognise Him in you today and always. Hallelujah!
