Romans 12:2 NIV “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Can you imagine a Christian who grew up never understanding his purpose for living, and as a result, he’s always at loggerheads with himself and everyone around him? For such a person to know his purpose in life, he’ll need to first understand God’s plan for his life. This requires the training process of renewing of the mind through God’s Word. In our opening scripture, the word “transformed” used is from the Greek word “metamorphoo,” which means to metamorphose or transform. It connotes a change in state.
One of the ways to changing the experience of the down life to a more vibrant and enjoyable one is by renewing your mind with the Word of God. Until your mind is renewed and your way of thinking is changed, you’ll only be living at the “larva-stage” of life, not fully exploring all that God has for you. But, once you’re able to get a hold of what the Lord has prepared for you by digging deep into His Word, you’ll discover all the wonderful treasures that belong to you in Christ.
Think about this: when you get God’s Word into your spirit early and follow through in your Christian growth, it’s like the complete developmental process of a butterfly – from a little egg to a larva, then to the pupa stage, and finally, a butterfly emerges ready to fly. Once you’re fully inundated with His Word, you’ll find yourself gliding through life a victor. Hallelujah!
