As Sophie went on talking about Jesus, one of her listeners, who was half-listening, interrupted. “Hey! Who is this Jesus you guys keep preaching about anyway?” Another member of the audience tried to stop his friend from distracting Sophie. This was to no avail. The chatterer continued: “I’ve heard the story of Calvary a million times since I was a kid. So what?” But Sophie was undaunted. She saw this encounter as an opportunity to really explain what the Gospel meant, and her listeners, including the guy who raised the earlier question, ended up giving their hearts to the Lord.
Like Sophie, every believer ought to be convinced of the truth of the Gospel and be confident enough to share it. The Gospel is God’s only saving power for mankind – men, women, boys and girls. The Bible says, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12 NIV). Your conviction of this truth gives you the boldness to proclaim it in your world. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, “…I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (NIV).
So, I encourage you to express your faith today, like Apostle Paul who wrote: “…I feel compelled of necessity to do it. Woe is me if I do not preach the glad tidings (the Gospel)!” (1 Corinthians 9:16 AMPC).

Dear Father, I thank you for the grace you made available for all through Jesus Christ. I’m grateful for the gift of salvation. And I’m living according to my conviction of the truth of this Gospel. I function by your strength to proclaim it to those in my sphere of contact, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
