PRAY BECAUSE GOD ANSWERS
(Don’t Allow Unbelief To Stop You From Praying)
TO THE BIBLE: Luke 11:9-10 RSV
“And I tell you, Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
LET’S TALK
You prayed concerning an issue, and you’re expecting an answer. But days have turned into weeks, weeks into months, then it’s almost a year and you begin to ask yourself, “Did God really hear me when I prayed? If He did, why hasn’t He answered?” The truth is, He wouldn’t ask you to pray if He wasn’t going to answer. God heard and answered you, but you didn’t receive what you asked for, because of unbelief!
As a Christian, it’s your God-ordained right to receive answers when you pray according to His Word (John 15:16). But if you pray with doubt in your heart, you’re not going to receive anything (James 1:6-8). The problem isn’t with God but on the receiving end. It takes faith to receive from God, because the Scripture says, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6). Besides that, as one who is born again, you’re the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21). And God cannot “not” answer you when you pray because He hears the prayer of the righteous (Proverbs 15:29).
So, now that you know it’s God’s desire to answer you whenever you pray, ensure that you don’t pray wrongly or in doubt, but in faith and in line with His Word. Also, when you’re done praying, remember to thank Him, knowing that He’s heard and granted you your request.
